Here in England, our patron saint is St. George, however unlike other nations, we hardly celebrate at all! Most people don’t even know the history of St. George or what day the celebration falls on (its April 23rd incase you were wondering).
Here is a link to wikipedia so if you like you can read all about St George and find out the true stories behind the legend, did he really slay a dragon? Unlikely, but he was a real man who did some pretty cool things.

In Bexhill-on-Sea, i have found that on saturday April 25th they had fireworks to celebrate St Georges Day organised by the Bexhill Bonfire society. Other places such as London and Manchester did have celebrations but no fireworks unfortunately.
I personally think we should start celebrating Saint georges Day more and hopefully over the next few years we will see more use of fireworks, and bigger parades etc as i think it is a shame that we hardly celebrate being English anymore.
