Information

Who can buy fireworks? - Indoor Fireworks (category 1), Garden Fireworks (Category 2) and Display Fireworks (Category 3) can be purchased by adults over 18 years of age. It is illegal to sell fireworks to anyone under the age of eighteen and it is illegal for under 18's to posses fireworks in a public place. Professional Fireworks (Category 4) are only available to firework professionals.

When can you buy fireworks? - You can buy fireworks all year round from specially licenced suppliers such as ourselves.

Where can I let off fireworks? - You can let off fireworks on your own property (or someone elses property, provided that they have given you permision to do so) but you cannot let fireworks off in a public place (park etc).

When can I let off fireworks? - You can let off fireworks any day of the year but not after 11.00pm or before 7.00am with the following exceptions:-

* Until 1.00am following the first day of Chinese New Year.
* Until midnight on Nov. 5th.
* Until 1.00am on the day following Diwali Day.
* Until 1.00am on the day following Dec. 31st.

Who do I need to tell? - It is common courtesy to inform neigbours, owners of animals, elderly residential homes etc. A note explaining the date and time of the display and an approximate duration is a good idea. A letter to the police, fire service and the coast guards/local airport (if applicable) particularly when the display is not during the main seasons is also benificial.

How much space do I need to let off fireworks? - Garden Fireworks (Category 2) require a minimum viewing distance of 5m. Display Fireworks (Category 3) require a minimum viewing distance of 25m. Garden Fireworks conforming to the European Standard BS EN 14035 require a minimum viewing distance of 8m. The distances quoted are the minimum viewing distances.

You should also be aware of overhead obstructions such as trees, cables etc, some fireworks produce fan shaped displays and that should be taken into consideration when purchasing fireworks for your event.

Our fireworks are tested to comply with BS 7114:Part2:1988 or with BS EN 14035 (the new European standard).

Types of Fireworks

ROCKETS -- Rockets are fired from a tube (supplied). All of our rockets explode with large canopies of stars and/or effects. Please contact us should you require more detailed information regarding rocket sizes and performance.

GROUND MINES -- Fired from the ground, mines begin with a small fountain and conclude with a single or multiple eruption of stars and effects.

ROMAN CANDLES/BARRAGES -- Fired from the ground; Roman Candles shoot a variety of effects high into the air, including stars, hummers, whistles, crackles and bangs. Various effects are often combined to make one exciting firework. A number of Roman Candles collected together in bundles are known as barrages or cakes.

SINGLE IGNITION FIREWORKS -- Basically a new version of the roman candle (see above). Single Ignitions consist of many different effect roman candles fused together to fire in a rapid and continuous sequence.

SET PIECES -- There are basically two categories; those which rotate to form large spinning wheels and those whose outlines represent shapes such as stars. All set piece fireworks require fixing to tall 50mm x 50mm posts (not supplied)

FOUNTAINS -- Fired from the ground, fountains produce a tree shaped effect of sparks. Large fountains can reach a height of 4-5 metres.

PORTFIRES -- Used for lighting fireworks, portfires burn for 3-5 minutes with a small flame.

ORDERING & PAYMENT -- You can order on-line with your credit/debit card using our secure shopping cart. ( Please note: if you are paying by card and requiring delivery and this is your first order with us we have to deliver to the address where the card is registered. )

If this is your first order with us and you require your order to be delivered to an alternative address to where you card is registered then we regret that we are unable to accept payments by card. You can however pay by cheque, please use our POSTAL ORDER FORM

If you are collecting your fireworks payment is made upon collection. Payment for collected orders can be made by cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Solo, Maestro, Delta & Electron. Orders can
be reserved by telephone on (01926) 421330 or by fax on (01926) 832775. All total prices shown include V.A.T. @15%. Should the rate of V.A.T. change, the prices will be amended accordingly.

Contents of displays may vary according to availability, but in such cases fireworks of equivalent or greater value will be substituted.

People collecting their fireworks do not pay any carriage charges.
We can only deliver to mainland UK addresses, please allow 7 days for delivery & 14 days for delivery during October, November & December.

Your delivery address MUST be manned as deliveries have to be signed for.
Alternatively you can collect your order from our Leamington Spa store.


SHOWROOM -- We have an in-store showroom at our Leamington Spa shop. We are open all year round and in addition to the packs shown on this web site which are available for delivery or collection we have a large selection of individual fireworks for you to browse at.
From 1st October to 31st December our in-store showroom expands to display an even larger range.


DISPLAY ADVICE -- An aerial display is most effective when fired in about 15 - 20 minutes. If you are
including set piece fireworks aim for about 20 - 30 minutes. We would suggest that New Year displays have a maximum duration of about 5 minutes.

Fireworks should be stored in a safe dry place.

Making a contract with us.
When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. We will send you an email to confirm that we have received your order. Once we have checked the price and availability of the goods we will either phone you or email you again to confirm that we accept your order, and that a contract has been made between us. We will not take payment from you until we have accepted your order.
In the unlikely event that the goods are no longer available, or that we have made a pricing mistake, we will advise you of this.
You will not receive an email or phone call confirming acceptance of your order, and there will be no contract between us.

How to place an order
Orders are taken in English and the contract will not be filed with any external organisation.
On-line - Click 'Buy Now'; you will then be transferred to our shopping cart where you are required to fill in your invoice and delivery details as well as your payment details, alternatively you can telephone us with your requirements or post us an order. On-line Credit/Debit card payments are accepted using a secure server.
If you have progressed to the shopping cart and wish to amend an order please delete the number of items in the shopping cart and re-order the correct item

Delivery
Orders are delivered using a courier. There is a delivery charge of per order. Due to the seasonal nature of fireworks we will store an order for a customer until the customer requests delivery otherwise it is our intention to send goods out within 2 working days of receiving an order and our couriers should deliver within 5 working days of us dispatching the order. If you have not received your order within 7 working days of you having placed your order or if your goods have been damaged in transit please contact us promptly.

Cancellation and returns
This policy does not apply to the following goods, which are exempt from the right to cancel: Fireworks that have been manufactured to the customer's specifications.
You can cancel your contract at any time up to 7 working days after the date of delivery. To do this please email or write to us.
You do not have to give any reason for cancellation. However, a brief description will help us to improve the service we offer to customers in the future.

If you cancel, you must return the goods to us at your own expense. You must ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage.

If you fail to return the goods, we will collect them, and we will charge you for the direct cost of collection. If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to us, and this results in damage or deterioration, we will charge you for the reduction in value.

This cancellation policy does not affect your legal rights - for example if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

Sale of Goods:-
If any of Jordans Fireworks' packs are faulty, & not of satisfactory quality (see note 1) or do not match how they were described (see note 2), the customer is entitled to reject them and claim a
refund.
Please note only complete display packs can be returned by a courier and they must be packed in the authorised UN carton/s they were delivered in.
(Note 1) In the event of an individual firework proving to be either faulty or not of satisfactory quality please return the quality control leaflet included with all mail order firework packs and we shall arrange either a refund or credit note for the firework(s) concerned, as preferred by the customer.
(Note 2) Contents of Jordans Display Packs may vary according to availability, Jordans reserve the right to substitute any item with another of equivalent or greater value.
If there is going to be a major change in specification of an item or a pack the customer will be advised of this before we confirm the order.

Faulty goods
If there is a problem with the goods, please contact us. We will deal with the matter in accordance with your legal rights.

Non-sale item payment terms:- for orders being collected from our Leamington Spa store, payment may be made on collection. For orders being delivered to your delivery address, payment must be made at the time of placing the order.
